Mr. Bonds

Mr. Bonds
Originally uploaded by maphet.

Wednesday night I saw the Giants play the Braves at Turner Field. Bonds did hit a home run, but what was more interesting was the amount of booing he received every time he even approached the plate. Although he beat Babe Ruth and Hank Aarons, it seems like it would have been more rewarding to see one of them play.

as a baseball fan I don't realy care that bonds broke hank's record using steroids. I just hate to see a jack ass break a great guy's record. Hanks' generally known as a very humble man who is very unselfish. Bonds is generally known as the complete opposite.

Thats why when Bonds broke Mark Mqwuire (Sp) record of 70 hrs in a season i was disappointed b/c Mark was a pretty good humanitarian donating millions of his salary every year to children from a abusive homes as well as taking less money so that the team could afford better players around him. Bonds is paid millions upon millions to hit home runs even though he can't field or run.

Chuck Klosterman has a good article on Bonds, and the effect he's having on the sport and its fans, and why it seems like no-one really likes the man. It was written prior to Bonds breaking Babe Ruth's HR record. Read it here.
